Which School Is Better: Oxford or Harvard?
When you’re in high school and first beginning to think about choosing a college, you’ll often be torn between choosing either Harvard or Oxford. While each of these universities may have their own merits and some similarities, they are two different schools. So how does one determine which school is better?
The first thing that you should do when thinking about this question is to look at what you’ll ultimately do later in life. Are you interested in a law career? Business? The type of doctor you’d like to be? Once you know what you want to do, you can then begin to compare Oxford and Harvard and decide which of the two will best meet your needs.
Another thing to consider is that both Oxford and Harvard have global reputations. This means that not only will you get an education that is of solid quality, but you’ll also stand out because you’ve attended one of the most prestigious schools in the world. If you want to apply for jobs in international firms or even go to graduate school in another country, then you’ll definitely want to think about going to one of these great universities. The prestige alone is worth it, especially if it means you’ll eventually get an award from a prestigious university.
But which is better? That’s a harder question to answer because there are so many aspects that come into play. Oxford is probably considered the top “real” school because of its long history, solid curriculum, and connections to royalty. While it is by no means the most prestigious or recognized, it is still well known and respected. Harvard is well known for its overall excellence as well as the number of programs it offers, but it does have a slightly smaller reputation than the other schools.
When looking at Oxford and Harvard, the overall results and achievements should be a given. Obviously, Oxford is the top of the line, but which school provides the best overall education? Some may say that Yale has the best reputation and therefore it’s the best school, while others might cite Harvard as a highly respected educational establishment. Which school is better?
The answer really comes down to each individual student. If you’re looking for a high-ranking, prestigious school with an excellent curriculum and amazing research accomplishments, then you’ll probably want to go to one of the above mentioned universities. If you’re looking for a more liberal arts atmosphere, a smaller campus with less social activities, and less focus on research, then you might consider going to either of the aforementioned schools. Whichever school you decide on, it will be an investment in your future, and you’ll be glad that you did all your research.
